Artist Statement
My work explores the basic gestures of line and form. The forms I create mimic the illusion
of breath by the slow expanding and contracting of contouring lines, giving
movement and life to a static object. My work has become an
autobiographical expression of my interests and experience in natural history
and religion. Drawing from these encounters and curiosities, I manifesting my
own narratives. Through the
construction of gesture and comparative anatomy, my intent is to explore and
preserve universal transitional states of being.
